all in a day of God's goodness
today we met a rather rude woman in a black car.
at freo, daryl and i were following an elderly couple closely in our car so that we could get their parking lot. Despite our car signal, up drives up this black car with an ang-moh woman in it and she looks straight at daryl and i, giving us a face and a hand signal that said unequivocally 'no way, dude, this lot's mine.'
i just told daryl, "forget it, give it to them. there's no point in fighting with them."
so we drove off - daryl really mad at her sheer rudeness.
to cut the long story short, we missed a few other lots but finally daryl stopped the car and waited. As we waited, i decided to ask my Daddy for a parking lot from a car just near where we were waiting.
for no reason, just simply, because i knew He could and would.
And a woman who was walking towards our car, waved to us to tell us that she was leaving. she entered her car, drove out half way, came out and walked to our car with a ticket in her hand.
She passed us her ticket that she'd paid for till 3.23pm (we were there at 1). "too hot and too many people - I'm going home," she said and went back to her car and drove off.
daryl drove the car into the lot and you know what, God is really, really good. we got even more than we thought we didn't get - a paid ticket for 2 and a half hours and a shady spot.
it's really cool knowing that God really is the one that fights all our battles - big or small.
i am so undeservedly blessed.
on our way back, we saw a billow of black smoke.
i think its a bit of a dramatic irony that just today, the sermon was on the tabernacle of Moses but bush fire in the Perth summer's no laughing matter. as daryl drove, i wondered if it was coming from our home's area. for a moment it seemed like our home was safe... and then, as we drove nearer, the smoke was coming from an area that was too close for comfort.
i was worried as we saw bits of black ash fall on our windscreen but i was assured that our house was watched over by angels and there was a peace i had in my heart. And daryl reminded me that our house was protected by the Lord. We reached home and our house was safe but the fire really wasn't that far off. It was a little too close for comfort with the neighbours getting ready to evacuate and large enough to make it on channel 7 news. We went in and observed, but still knowing our God who watches over us neither sleeps nor slumbers. It was He who would protect our housing area and our home.
The fire died down after about 45 min, affecting only bush area and a small area of a nearby farm.
whatever other people may say, think or feel, I'd really like to think that truly good things happen to those who know God loves them. (: and it's only, only by His loving grace and mercy.
